Bits & Pieces: Fishy Litterboxes, Old Lady Shoes, Blocking Political Rants

Bits & Pieces: Fishy Litterboxes, Old Lady Shoes, Blocking Political Rants

I am glad, grateful, and thrilled beyond words that August is over.

My love....

Oh goodness, it's been a year and a half since I've blogged.  That can't be good...I'm not even sure what I've actually been doing in that year and a half.  I do know I spend 10 days of that year in a half in Maui.....but I can't really recall what else I did?  Oh well. :)

I have been inspired to blog again.  Blog about something I love to do...something that I never thought I'd love but I fell in love with it after becoming a mom 9 and a half years ago.  Cooking!!  I absolutely love cooking. I love the hunt of a good recipe either online or the old fashion way.....a cookbook.  I love gathering the ingredients, and mixing my concoction.  But must of all, I love the looks on my fellas faces when they try something new!!  I am very blessed with good eaters.....they'll at least try something once, but normally will eat every last bite.

Vogue has a habit of publishing sycophantic profiles of political figures who ultimately turn up less than as pure and good as they've been made to seem

Local Child Receives Make-A-Wish Trip to Disneyland

SACRAMENTO, CA  − Make-A-Wish Sacramento and Northeastern California will join in World Wish Day, the global celebration of wish granting, on April 29 by fulfilling the wishes of two children with life-threatening medical conditions. A 3-year-old Modesto boy will be taking a magical trip to Disneyland and a 14-year-old Oroville girl will visit Disney World.

These two wishes will be among those granted on World Wish Day in 36 countries served by Make-A-Wish around the world.

World Wish Day is organized by Make-A-Wish to commemorate the anniversary of the wish that inspired the creation of what is now one of the world’s leading children’s charities. 7-year-old Chris Greicius’ wish to be a police officer was granted in Phoenix by volunteers from several law-enforcement agencies on April 29, 1980.

keeping it simple

keeping it simple

I know that plans and reality may be two different things, but I think my demands on life are minimal.

Last Sunday, while still feeling more green than usual, I bought myself some flowers…some beautiful flowers…because I can.

It’s nice when you receive something special like a simple bouquet of flowers…even if they are a fistful of dandelions from the backyard…especially if they are a fistful of dandelions from the backyard. It’s amazing how something so simple can make you feel special and remind you that today someone was thinking about you during the busyness of their day. It’s as if you have been enveloped by a warm, bear hug or been warmed by the clasp of hands…fingers laced.

Such a simple thing.

Such a needed thing.
