Technology Training at the Keyes Library

Adults are welcome to come by the Keyes Library in January and February for trainings on library databases and applications. Each week the library will hold a training focusing on technology available to customers. Classes will focus on Mango Languages, Hoopla, eBooks, and Zinio. Below is a schedule of the trainings each week.

· Monday, January 12 from 9 to 10 a.m. and Thursday, January 15 from 3:30 to 4:40 p.m. Mango Languages Tutorial. Mango Languages offers online, conversation-based instruction in over 60 languages, including ESL courses taught in native languages. Mango offers remote access and free mobile applications so that tutorial can be accessed anytime and is free. Individuals can stop by the Keyes Library during these times to learn how to access and use Mango Languages.

· Wednesday, January 21 from 10 to 11 a.m. and Thursday, January 22 from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Hoopla Training. Hoopla is a way to get audiobooks on demand. No holds necessary. No waiting. Users can listen to their selections via online streaming or by temporarily downloading selections to a mobile device for listening without an internet connection. Individuals can stop by the Keyes Library during these times to learn how to access and use Hoopla.

· Monday, January 26 from 9 to 10 a.m. and Thursday, January 29 from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Zinio Training. Zinio is an online magazine collection that the library subscribes to for the reading and browsing enjoyment of our customers. Currently the library offers 51 magazines that can be read on computers and mobile devices. Individuals can stop by the Keyes Library during these times to learn how to access and use Zinio. Library staff will be available during this hour to demonstrate the program.

· Monday, February 2 from 9 to 10 a.m. and Thursday, February 5 from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. eBook Training.  Individuals can come by to learn how to access eBooks from the Stanislaus County Library. Staff will be available to assist individuals with downloading eBooks from the 3M Cloud Library during this time.
