Do you need assistance with estate planning? Find help during the Estate Planning Seminar on Thursday, March 24 at 6 p.m. at the Keyes Library. During this seminar, attorney Julie Richardson will review the basics of estate planning, including a discussion of all of the documents you will need, plus other issues to consider.

Celebrate Women's Health in Modesto and Stockton

WOMEN'S NIGHT OUT: Empowering women to think and feel great

The public is invited to the 7th annual Women’s Night Out, a free program to celebrate and enhance women’s health. Come meet with Kaiser Permanente experts who will discuss a variety of compelling topics for women including how to lower the risk of cancer, the benefits of plant-based diets, improving skin and eye care, and more.

The first presentation will be Thursday, May 14, from 5:30–8 p.m. at Kaiser Permanente Modesto Medical Center, 4601 Dale Road, Modesto, Conference Rooms 1A92–4. The second presentation the following week will be Thursday, May 21, from 5:30–8 pm. at Kaiser Permanente Stockton Medical Offices, 7373 West Lane, Stockton, Conference Rooms A–I.

UOP Offers Affordable Counseling Program

University of the Pacific is offering a substance abuse counseling program. The program is very affordable and can be completed in less than a year. Applications need to be in by June 8, and classes start in July.

Technology Training at the Keyes Library

Adults are welcome to come by the Keyes Library in January and February for trainings on library databases and applications. Each week the library will hold a training focusing on technology available to customers. Classes will focus on Mango Languages, Hoopla, eBooks, and Zinio. Below is a schedule of the trainings each week.

· Monday, January 12 from 9 to 10 a.m. and Thursday, January 15 from 3:30 to 4:40 p.m. Mango Languages Tutorial. Mango Languages offers online, conversation-based instruction in over 60 languages, including ESL courses taught in native languages. Mango offers remote access and free mobile applications so that tutorial can be accessed anytime and is free. Individuals can stop by the Keyes Library during these times to learn how to access and use Mango Languages.

For individuals with disabilities, every day activities, such as going to school, playing, and having a job, become challenges. United Cerebral Palsy of San Joaquin provides supports and services to more than 2,000 children and adults every day helping them live life without limits.

UCP unites and serves people with disabilities from Down Syndrome, to Autism Spectrum Disorder, Epilepsy, speech delays, physical disabilities and more. The programs and services provided at UCP help individuals with disabilities, and their families live more meaningful lives.
