Starting a Fall Garden at the Modesto Library

Growing your own food is easy and fun!

Anne Schellman, environmental horticulture expert, will discuss the aspects of starting a fall garden at the Modesto Library on Saturday, Sept. 1 at 1 p.m. Participants will learn how to grow exotic vegetables such as kale and Swiss chard, how to save money while gardening, and can have their gardening questions answered. Participants interested in growing their own food will find this event indispensable!

Scenic Nursey to host 'Easter Eggstravaganza' April 23

MODESTO - Scenic Nursery will host an Easter Eggstravaganza on Saturday, April 23 from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. for kids age 2-12.

The free event will include an Easter egg hunt, crafts, outdoor activities and more. Once the kids activities are done, why not let the kids help to select a few plants for a small backyard garden, while you're at it?
