Halloween Celebration at the Keyes Library

The Keyes Library will celebrate Halloween early this year with fun crafts and games on Thursday, Oct. 29 at 3 p.m. Children can trick-or-treat and play pin the smile on the skeleton as well as a Halloween bean bag toss game. Participants can also make Halloween magnets, witch bookmarks, and spiders. Snacks will also be served while supplies last. Individuals are welcome to come in costume; however, costumes are not required.

Goosebumps: A Shivery Good Time at the Keyes Library

Celebrate R.L. Stine’s The Curse of the Mummy’s Tomb and The Girl Who Cried Monster with two fun crafts at the Keyes Library on Wednesday, Oct. 14 at 1 p.m. During this activity, children can make a scary mummy and a monster bookmark. While at the library, participants can take a trivia quiz based on the Goosebumps book series. All who complete a quiz will be entered into a drawing for two movie theater tickets to see the new Goosebumps movie.

Superhero Day at the Keyes Library

Quick Robin! To the Library! Celebrate the end of our Summer Reading Challenge with Superhero Day at the Keyes Library on Tuesday, August 4 at 2:30 p.m. Children can play Pin the Symbol on Batman, a Spiderman Toss Game, and a Superhero Bean Bag Toss Game. Participants can also pose as their favorite superhero in our photo booth area and make superhero lollipops, masks, and scratch art. During the program, individuals can also use their super brain power to guess the number of candies in the jar with the closest guess winning the entire jar of candy. Children who participated in the Superhero Academy will also receive a diploma, which certifies they can assume their superhero identity. Individuals are welcome to come in costume, however, costumes are not required. Cake, snacks, and light refreshments will also be available while supplies last.

Tie Dye at the Keyes Library

Bring a t-shirt, hat, or tote bag to dye at the Keyes Library on Wednesday, July 29 at 1 p.m. Participants can mix dyes and colors to create a one-of-a-kind design! The library will supply all the dye and other equipment needed to dye the item. Due to the nature of this program, parental supervision is required. One child per adult at a time.

PHOTOS – Stanislaus County Fair

The Stanislaus County Fair is underway at the fairgrounds in Turlock.

The fair runs from July 10-19.

Free celebrity concerts are included with fair admission. There are three stages of live entertainment, upwards of 30,000 local exhibits and more than 1,750 animals.

Summer Reading Performers at the Keyes Library

Summer Reading Performers at the Keyes Library

Looking for fun family entertainment? Come by the Keyes Library during the month of June for two free, fun, and family-friendly performers. The first show, Xtreme Science Magic, will be held on Monday, June 8 at 3 p.m. During Xtreme Science Magic, Don O’Brien will perform amazing science experiments and magic tricks that will astound the audience. Then on Monday, June 15 at 10:30 a.m. individuals can watch Uncle Jer’s Traveling Bee Show. During this program, children will be treated to an interactive performance that discusses the history of bees, pollination, and honey production. Each child will also receive a parting gift from Uncle Jer!

Children, tweens, teens, and adults can also use these performances as an opportunity to sign-up for our annual Summer Reading Challenge where individuals can win prizes just for reading!
